Well considering I haven’t gained any traction in blogging on this site I thought I should point out that back in July my site was being bombarded by “bots”. I may not be upgrading the site but I keep track of my blogs. I have a few things in the production pipeline.
So, If you are running a WordPress blog and you think you’re getting a ridiculous amount of hits, it could be the digg effect, or just someone attacking your site for vulnerabilities. In any case here are a few links I found to be useful in protecting my directories.

The most important tip that is common across all the advice I found is that you should upgrade WordPress. Other than that make sure you secure your directories from your hosting server.
